Cleaning your home is more important than ever to stop the spread of germs.

Here are some products you can make if unable to get your regular cleaning products.

Before making homemade products it is advised to check the labels first and always label any bottles to indicate what is inside.

  • 4 tablespoons of baking soda
  • One litre of warm water

Baking soda causes dirt and grease to dissolve in water and so it is very effective in cleaning numerous spots in the kitchen, including countertops, fridges and stoves.

Combine the ingredients together in a spray bottle and shake.

Let the ingredients infuse for a week before using.

Glass cleaner:

  • 500ml water
  • 125ml white or cider vinegar
  • 60ml rubbing alcohol 70% concentration
  • One/two drops essential oil for smell

Next time any glass is needed to be cleaned around the house, combine the ingredients and pour them in a spray bottle.

It is advised not to clean windows on a hot sunny day because the mix may dry too quickly and leave streaks.

When it comes to preventing the spread of infectious diseases like Covid-19 the best method is to regularly wash hands with soap and water.

If soap is not available, the next best option would be to use an alcohol based hand sanitiser that contains at least 60 percent alcohol.

Ensuring your home is cleaned regularly will help kill germs and stop the spread of infections.
