The new Ferrari Purosangue is a £350k V12 four-door with all-wheel drive – just don't say the word 'SUV' | The Sun

ITALIAN supercar brand Ferrari has revealed more details about its new Purosangue.

The Purosangue is a jacked-up, four-wheel-drive, four-door Ferrari with four seats and a big boot, but not once in Ferrari's notes is it referred to as an 'SUV'.

Whatever it is, this all-new Fezza's name means 'thoroughbred' in Italian and Ferrari is adamant you need to think of it as a practical performance car that's designed to be driven on road rather than off it.

At the front, it has a 6.5-litre V12 petrol engine with no turbos producing 715hp.

That power goes to all four wheels via an eight-speed automatic gearbox, which naturally comes with paddles allowing you to take control.

Despite its 'more commanding driving position,' it'll still crack 0-62mph in 3.3 seconds and carry on to 193mph.

Ferrari's V12 is one of the finest sounding engines ever made, and it promises the Purosangue's will sound every bit as good.

Throw in active and adjustable suspension, cutting-edge aerodynamics, four-wheel steering, driving modes and a carbon fibre and aluminium construction and the Purosangue should be handy on the right bit of Tarmac too.

Interestingly, the rear doors are hinged at the back and can be opened electrically with the touch of a button.

Inside, you'll find four separate fully electric sports seats, with the rear seat divided by a tall centre console.

Up front, the driver gets a sports steering wheel and, as in other Ferrari models, a set of digital dials that double up as an infotainment screen.

Over on the front passenger, there's a similar wrap-around feel to the dashboard and a screen for them to play with too.

Behind all of that sits a 473-litre boot which is the largest ever on a Ferrari, although the rear seats can be moved forward or folded for even more space.

Prices are yet to be confirmed, but expect it to start at around £350,000 and that most buyers will go far beyond that with a long list of options.
